This is the image for the news article titled GE Makerspace is OpenOur Educational Technology Director, Mr, Knueve, and our LMC Director, Ms. Frey. have been working together this school year to begin creating a “Makerspace” space as part of the library and computer lab spaces

Students have enjoyed trying out some of the materials during their library time.  Some things students may have tried using so far include: Osmos, K’NEX, Magnatiles/Letters/Poetry, Pattern Blocks, a 3D Printer, Dash and Dot, LittleBits, and Bookmark and Cardmaking. We look forward to continuing to add more “Maker” options.

One area that we could use your help with is our Lego building space.  If you have any legos that you would be willing to donate we would put them to great use.  Any small or large donations will help us in creating this space.  Please send any donations to school with your child to deliver to the LMC. We could also use additional K’NEX and Magnatiles.

We will soon be opening the Makerspace to students to use as a recess option, and teachers may also sign up to bring their classes to use the materials.

We will also be hosting a Maker Night in January for families to come and experience our Makerspace “Hands-On”.  Mark your calendars for our Maker Night on Thursday, January 19th, 5:30-7pm.  More information to come!  We look forward to working with you all in developing this space and using it with the students!
